Gillett
Overview
1926 - 1927
The Gillett was one of a group of cars intended to sell at the magic figure of £100. It was designed by E.H.Gillett who had made the British Ensign earlier in the decade. It was a neat little car powered by a 1020cc 4-cylinder ohv engine which together with the 3-speed gearbox, was made in the British Ensign works. The car had 4-wheel brakes and electric lighting and starting, while the body could seat two adults and two children. The price went up to £103 if nickel-plated radiator and fittings were required. Sadly few people were attracted by this bargain and only 25 Gilletts were made.
