Overview
An ex-General Motors high flyer, De Lorean touted his idea for a dramatic but high-volume sportscar around several countries, in the search for financial support. The British government took the bait, offering grants and loans totalling more than £80 million if De Lorean would set up shop in economically disadvantaged Northern Ireland, and he accepted.
