Zephyr

1919 - 1920
The three partners in this company had all worked for Adams, and built a prototype of their Zephyr car in 1914. It made a public appearance at the Olympia Show in November 1919. It had a 1945cc ohv 4cylinder engine with aluminium pistons designed by E. Talbot. It had shaft drive to a worm rear axle, and a 4-seater tourer body with narrow pointed radiator. It was an adavanced design, but it had two factors against it: its high price tag of £550 and problems with porosity in the engines. Only four or five Zephyrs were made, but the aluminium pistons were supplied to a number of car makers, including Aston Martin.
