BMW 316-318-320 Gold Portfolio 1975-90
Overview

Launched in July 1975, the first series of cars to bear this name were so enormously successful that they provided the financial bedrock on which the company was able to build throughout the 1980s. Tuning firms soon began to offer improved performance, which BMW later followed up with the 6-cylinder cars. The second generation announced in 1982 had subtle changes to bring them up to date but the major change was the introduction of four-door models in 1983. This book includes road tests, model introductory articles, comparison tests, buying secondhand, long term reports, specification and technical data. Models covered include: 316, 318, 320, 320i, Alpina 320i, 318i, 320iS, 318i Turbo, 323i, 318i 4-door, 316 4-door, M3, M3 Evo, M3 Cabrio, 318i Touring, 318iS. 180 pages, 300 illus. SB.
