Renault Alpine Gold Portfolio 1958-94
Overview

The Alpine was introduced in 1955 based on the Renault 4C with a glassfibre body. By 1957 both coup and cabriolet bodies were available with the cars based on running-gear from rear-engined Renaults, modified to give more power. Production was small in the fifties and sixties, but good rallying successes and the A310 raised sales. Power was switched to the v6 in 1976. Once sold through Renault dealerships Renault then bought the Alpine concern. The Alpine badge appeared on hot editions of the Renault 5 and the Renault GTA. This is a book of contemporary road tests, new model introductions, technical and specifications data, long-term tests, drivers impressions, touring, rallying. Models covered include: 747cc, 904cc, GT, 1300, GT470, Berlinette, 1300S, 1600S, A310, Renault 5 Alpine, A310 V6, A310 GT, Racer, GTA V6, Turbo, Le Mans, A610. 172 pages, 450 illus. SB.
