Ford Escort RS & Mexico 1970-1979 Limited Edition
Overview

Every RS Escort made was a 2-door saloon, all but the Twin-Cams and early RS1600s were specially built in British or West German factories. They were all based on the appropriate heavy-duty structure and suspension but with revised settings and had larger than normal, boosted or completely different engines with modifications; automatic transmission was never available. The Twin-Cam was discontinued soon after the Mexico was announced and the Mk I bodies were replaced by the Mk II in 1975. This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, specification and technical data, driver's impressions, long term tests and buying secondhand. Models covered include: 1600RS, Mexico, 1600S 1.8, RS2000, RS1800. 92 pages, 225 illus. SB.
