Synopsis
This book which covers all Triumph TR5/250 and TR6 models, explains the characteristics of the various TR sportscars, what to look out for when purchasing & how to restore a TR cost effectively. As well as his own substantial experience and that of other amateur restorers, the author had the help of various TR specialists and professional restorers. All this knowledge, allied to substantial photographic coverage, allows Roger Williams to provide truly detailed coverage of complete restoration and good advice on how to overcome common problems. Note that the TR5 model was known as the TR250 in the USA.
Over 450 colour photographs/illustrations.

Review from Classics magazine, March 2005
With over 450 colour photos and illustrations, this is how restoration books should be done. Rather than just a straightforward how-to guide, this 192 pager offers updates, improvements and the collective experience of five foremost TR restoration specialists.
Content is cleanly laid out and readily accessible. The tips and techniques will encourage anyone tackling a TR restoration. Thinking of converting a LHD car to RHD? It’s all here. Thoroughly recommended.
Review from Classic Cars magazine, March 2005
Veloce Publishing has re-released this popular Triumph TR restoration manual with colour photography. The result makes the essential step-by-step guidance much clearer and the book more enjoyable to use.
As with similar books by Veloce, the manual gives detailed advice on all the important areas of restoration, from choosing the right project car to bodywork, mechanical and trim work. Chapters on conversion from left-hand drive, specialists and tools make the book even more useful.
Review by James Jewell for BritishV8.org, January 2005
My summary-level review is quite simple: Great book, buy it. This book is an excellent resource for the Triumph restorer. You should not expect this book to walk you step-by-step through a brake overhaul, or provide the torque settings for an engine rebuild. That is what a shop manual is for. Rather, this book provides you with a wise mentor to give you the confidence to do an entire restoration and guide you around the common-yet-subtle pitfalls of a complex project He'll be with you when you go shopping for a project car, and you won't have to worry about waking him up at 2:00 AM when you're working late in the garage on a weekend.
For many of us, Roger Williams was the first person to show us how to put a big V8 in a Little British Car. Now he shows us how to make a Triumph strong and safe enough to take that big motor.
