Honda did not start to make cars until 1962. Its first effort set the tone for a future as a high-technology manufacturer. That car was the S500 using a 531cc, dohc engine developing 44bhp at only 130ins. The S600 followed and in 1966 the S800 was launched. Like its predecessors it was made in both coup and open forms. The Mk II came in 1967 and was in production until cessation in 1970. 1548 S800s were old in the UK of which only 295 were convertibles. Unfortunately they rusted but can be restored. This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, specification and technical data, buyers guide. Covers: S500, S600, S800 roadsters and coupes. 92 pages, 200 illus, SB.
