Ford Consul, Zephyr & Zodiac Mk 1 & 2 1950-62
Our price: £10.32
The new Consul and Zephyr Six appeared at the Motor Show in 1950. The integral body/chassis was new to Ford and yet they were simple, rugged and offered at unbeatable prices in their sector. A more luxurious Zephyr Zodiac was added for 1954 joining convertible versions of the Consul and Zephyr Six and followed shortly by an estate version produced by Abbotts. The enlarged Mk II versions came in 1956 with more crisply styled bodywork although the mechanical elements remained substantially unchanged. The million production figure was passed in 1961 with many of them being sold overseas. This is a book of contemporary road tests, new model introductions, specification and technical data, drivers impressions and used car reports. Models covered include: Consul, Zephyr Six, Raymond Mays conversion, Zephyr Convertible, Zodiac, Mk II Consul, Mk II Zephyr, Mk II Zodiac, Zephyr Estate, Zephyr Utility, Zodiac auto., Consul de luxe, Mk II Zephyr Convertible. 104 pages 250 illus. SB.
