John Ketchell has been drawing for over forty years, starting in his early teens when he realised expressing himself through charcoal, pastels and paint was what he wanted to pursue. John trained formally and studied at Harris School of Art Preston, a 4 year course culminating in achieving the MSIA.
Over the years his style has developed from photo realism to semi abstract which allows more freedom of how to interpret the subject matter. Ketchell’s passion for motor sport provides the drive and inspiration to capture the legends and greats of both cars and racers alike with the use of vibrant and energetic colours.
Past work includes a series of high profile full page advertisements and posters commissioned by HSBC for the F1 programme, paintings for Porsche Club GB and prints to celebrate their 40th anniversary, numerous commissions from the Porsche Club and Ferrari Club and Jardine Mattheson Group plc.
