South West's largest festival of steam and petrol

Tue 29 May 2007

The 33rd Gloucestershire Steam & Vintage Extravaganza at Kemble airfield, near Cirencester, promises to have a record number of Classic and Vintage cars on display at this years show on August 3-5.

Increasingly, steam shows are finding the need to bring in more recent vehicles to keep interest levels up as vehicles get older, the number of people who remember them in everyday use and who enjoy the nostalgia of seeing them in action again goes down, so its logical to bring in more recent vehicles that appeal to all the family as well as showing the development of motor vehicles down the years.

Classic car clubs will be out in force at Kemble this year, with the DKW, Austin Big 7, Jensen, Daimler & Lanchester, Ford Anglia 105E and Triumph Stag clubs already booked in. Over 400 Classic and Vintage cars have already booked, from a 1904 French CGV to a 1950 Studebaker Commander Big Six.

The show includes non-stop live action in the central arena, interactive demonstrations, rare breeds, a guest speakers' corner and an animal arena
