Until 1953 the 5,047 cc six-cylinder engine provided 146 bhp at 3,800 rpm. After this the power was raised to 172 bhp at 4,000 rpm from the same cylinder capacity. Customers in 1955 could also choose a V-8 (from Packard) of 5,237 or 5,773 cc. These engines remained in production until 1957.
