The 1951-1954 Hudson Hornet was an American luxury high performance car. It had a low-slung monobody/frame with the rear wheels inboard of the frame. It was powered by a 308 cid valve in block six cyl engine with hemispherical combustion chambers. The engine was offered in three versions: standard with 160 BHP, Twin H-Power, with twin two barrel downdraft carburettors, and an aluminium high compression cylinder head with 180+ BHP and high performance, which were factory authorized dealer installations of cylinder head, valve, camshaft, exhuast and intake manifold modifications, that offered 254 BHP.
The Hudson Hornet was the king of the American stock car racing circuit well into the late 1950's.
