Lamborghini Countach LP400/LP400S

Overview

Produced: 1974-1982, 716 produced.
Types: Coupe, 2 doors(Fastback)

Italian tractor manufacturer, Lamborghini, its replacement for the outrageous Miura in 1974, the equally impressive Countach. Like the Miura the Countach blended a quad-cam V12 engine with futuristic styling, this time incorporating its own unique "Gull-wing" doors that opened vertically.

The Countach became an instant legend almost overnight. Claims of it being the fastest production car in the world and a totally impractical interior (the windows could only open a few inches and rearward visibility was virtually nil) just added to the mystique of the Countach.

The original LP400 came with a 3929cc V12 and a cleaner shape than some of the later versions. In 1978 the Countach was updated and became the Countach LP400S. It remained in production until the LP500 arrived in 1982.
