Alfa Romeo introduced a new Giuletta range in 1977, based on the Alfetta platform and running gear. The Giuletta used the same Alfetta gearbox/transaxle, suspension and floor pan making it a simple model to produce. The Giuletta had a new bodyshell which featured a short boot with a noticeably high loading sill.
Various engines were available to Giuletta buyers including a 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 litre versions. Italy also had a special home market derivative with a smaller 1.4 litre engine. The Giuletta remained in production until 1985.
