The Avanti II, as the car was now named, was fitted with a Chevrolet Corvette engine because the Studebaker engines were no longer available. The body was identical to the original Avanti. Only 909 Avanti II cars were sold in the ten years from 1966 to 1975. The engine is a 5,354cc V-8 that provides 304 bhp at 5,000 rpm.
