The engine was a 2,647 cc V-8 that had power of at least 210 bhp. The ATS 2500 GT was never raced and did not sell well. The ATS name had been damaged by the Formula One debacle and there was reluctance to spend a great deal of money on an entirely unknown make. When 12 of the cars had been made, the factory had to close down. Count Volpi took the drawings with him to his Palazzo in Venice and used them later for his Serenissima sports cars.
