The company gained world fame after World War II by creating the "dream" concept cars for Chrysler but the Italian company wanted higher things by building cars bearing the Ghia name. This resulted in the Ghia L.6.4 in 1960. This five-seater coupe was mainly built using Chrysler parts, including the running gear and all mechanical parts. The car had a 6.4 litre V-8 engine that produced 340 bhp at 4,600 rpm. The Ghia L.6.4 therefore seemed ideally suited for the US market but only a few examples were sold, despite Frank Sinatra being one of their first customers.
