Ford Escort

Here we have my 1986 Ford Escort, I've always liked these car ever since I was young, can remember a mate of my dad's having one, and always said I would get one some day. I've been looking for a good MK4 Escort for some time now, but haven't come across any until I got this one. As you'll know many Escorts as old as mine are heaps of rust if they've even managed to survive and not end up in the scrapyard. The reason I spent so long looking for one is I wanted to get one that was as original as possible, sadly many are bought and kitted up by boy racers with nasty looking bodykits, dodgy paintjobs and the interiors pulled to pieces to fit the cheap looking CD player, 6x9's and 5000 watt subwoofer. My Escort is almost completely original (yes, even down to the stereo radio cassette!), the only mods are it has been lowered 30mm all round but these are shocks and springs from an RS Turbo, so it doesn't look out of place, and a set of alloy wheels, but again these are original Ford.

I will hopefully be keeping this car for the forseeable future as I do really like it, and it always makes me smile when I see how good this car still looks when parked next to an 09 plate car, and I do get some looks when I do drive it round as you don't see many of these now, especially this clean. I do use the car, but not daily as it's too nice a car to be taking to the supermarket car park, only to find some kid has slammed the door of their mum's chelsea tractor into the side of it. I keep the car garaged up and protected as I would like to still see it on the road in another 23 years from now!
