The Super 88 was launched in 1955, powered by the most powerful motor Oldsmobile had: a V-8 that produced 202 bhp at 4,000 rpm, which was 17 bhp more then the engines of the 88 and 98.
The 1955 Super 88 4-door hardtop which Oldsmobile called a Holiday Sedan sold 47, 385.
The Super 88 in 1957 was named Fiesta. It had space for nine and their luggage.
