In 1980 Alfa Romeo announced its latest "executive model", the Alfa 6. The Alfa 6 was the latest in a long line of undistinguished attempts by Alfa Romeo to build a top executive model. Despite lacking the right looks and image the Alfa 6 did at least benefit from having a sweet 2.5 litre V6 engine.
The 2492cc V6 was mated to a three speed ZF auto gearbox and initially breathed via triple twin-choke Weber carbs, replaced in 1985 by fuel injection. Production remained fairly low by Alfa/Fiat standards and finished in late 1985.
