Bentley Continental S2

Overview

Produced: 1959-1962, 388 produced.
Types: Saloon, 2 doors, 5 seats
Convertible, 2 doors, 5 seats
Saloon, 4 doors, 5 seats

Following on from the S1 Continental the S2 now had different brakes (4 shoes) and a changed axle ratio, power came from the all new Rolls-Royce/Bentley 6230cc V8, to be found in the Silver Cloud 2, S2 Saloon and R-R Phantom V.

Body work was still supplied from the usual British Coachbuilders in various styles. A new style to be found was the single headlamp,

Fixed Head Coupe and Drop Head Coupe design by Park Ward. This particular design had a straight thru wing line, a first for Rolls-Royce and Bentley. H.J. Mulliner tended to clothe the S2 with more traditional designs, including the 6 light, "Flying Spur" saloon.
