In 1958 BMC took the unusual step of launching the first, of what would soon be its core model range, as a Wolseley. The new range would soon include Austin/Morris/MG and Riley versions, all using variations of the same B-Series engine and Farina styled bodies. The new Wolseley carried the unexciting name of 15/60, which understated its important arrival somewhat.

The 15/60 had its own unique styling features which included substantial rear wing "fins" and the traditional front grille complete with illuminated badge. Inside the interior had an attractive wood dash and leather seats. The 15/60 stayed in production until 1961 when the 16/60 took over.
