To say that the BMC Farina family was a complicated model line-up would be an understatement!. The Austin Cambridge A55 and Morris Oxford Series V were identical apart from badging and minor trim differences, yet they were built in separate factories, sold by different dealers and the Austin was14 pounds cheaper! The Oxford Series V had tall rear fins with unique tail lights, a bench seat and its own dash layout to distinguish it from the Austin versions. Austin and Morris versions used different two-tone paint finishes to help give them both their own distinctive look. Eventually the Oxford V made way for the updated VI, which ran parallel with the Austin A60, both appearing in 1961.
