Following the normal BMC approach to new model derivatives a Morris version of the 1800 arrived in 1966, 2 years after the Austin equivalent. The Morris version was absolutely identical to its Austin sister featuring the transverse, 1798cc B-series engine providing drive to the front wheels.

In 1968 MkII versions of the 1800 range appeared. The MkII had a few trim detail changes, a new grille design (now the same on Austin versions) and redesigned rear wings incorporating vertically mounted rear lamp clusters. One significant change to the MkII was the availability of a sportier "S" version. The Morris 1800 MkII S had a twin carb, 96bhp engine providing near 100mph performance, interestingly an Austin 1800 "S" version was not immediately available.

Morris 1800 MKII production finished in 1972 to make way for the for the revised MkIII 1800 and new 2200 versions.
