Prior to 1939 Singer had been one of Britains largest passenger car manufacturers, however following the end of WW2 Singer found itself in the sink-or-swim, "export or die" situation facing all of the nations car producers. Luckily Singer had the perfect pre-war model to woo sports car hungry export markets, the Nine Roadster.
Essentially the post-war Nine was unchanged from the 1939 model, this meant "Easi-clean" road wheels, a three-speed gearbox and mechanical brakes. The engine was Singers very willing overhead cam unit measuring 1074cc and developing 36bhp. Production of the Nine Roadster continued until 1949.
