The sports version of the 315 was known as the 315/1. It had an attractive 2-seater body with spatted rear wheels, and was capable of 75mph (120km/h) The performance of these cars in the 1934 Alpine Trial so impressed J.H. Aldington of Frazer Nash that he decided to import them to Britain, offering them and later BMW models in slightly Anglicised form under the name Frazer Nash BMW
Typ 315 developed 34bhp in standard form, and 40bhp in triple-carbutettor sports form.
