Standard Ten I bought my Standard Ten in the spring of 2009 from a Studebaker dealer in the Netherlands from whom I get my spare parts for my Studebaker Lark. I just couldn't resist this little nice car just standing there in a dark corner... I was looking for a restoration project to start with, as I still have to learn a lot and I don't want to mess up my other classics (apart of the Lark I also own a Thunderbird '59 and a Spitfire '73). The Ten is in a semi-poor condition, but the bottom is hard and the engine is running. There is a lot of cosmetic work to do, because the last owner has done a terrible painting job and the inside of the car has never been restored. My Ten has been imported in the '90's from England to The Netherlands, but has never been registrated there, so I presume it hasn't been on the road since then, except for a few trials on a private property.I changed the oil, water, battery and fuel, and oh wonder, the engine started almost immediately. Losts of smoke of course! Now I have to do the brakes, so any help is welcome how to do so.

Standard Vanguard 10 I have owned the car for 11 years. I bought it in this condition but I have done the brakes and right now I'm doing the Distributor and Carburator.I'm the 3:rd owner and the car have only been running 5000 km. In Sweden the car was called "Junior" as you can see on the hood.It's a verry nice car and it gets a lot of attention everywhere I go. Standard Super Ten Beige and red two tone. Red interior all original. needs new front bumper and fishmouth grill. Working when bought and it is a rolling rebuild, cost £300 in this runing state. body and mechanics fine, roof lining relined and is really fun to drive. |
