Humber introduced a luxurious Sceptre model to top the new "Arrow" range launched by the Rootes Group in 1967. The Arrow range comprised of the a variety of saloon and estate models badged and trimmed as Hillmans and Singers, as well as the Sceptre. The Sceptre used a twin-carb 1725cc engine and other mechanical parts from the more basic Hillman Hunter.
Externally the Sceptre featured quad headlamps, a traditional chrome grille (albeit as scaled down version of the old Humber design) and other "luxuries" such as twin reversing lights. Inside the Humber featured a beautiful burr walnut fascia and comfortable seats trimmed in hard wearing vinyl material.
The Humber Sceptre proved to be a popular model with retiring executives and continued until 1976 when it, and the Humber marque, were discontinued.
