Built alongside the standard Silver Cloud II and Bentley SII, the Long Wheel Base version offered improved interior space. Aimed at the
chauffeur driven limousine market, the SCII LWB carried on the usual R-R tradition of offering cars with extra room in the rear compartment.
This extra space was achieved by "stretching" the rear of the chassis/body by four inches. Unfortunately with the electric, glass partition fitted to many cars, most of this extra space was lost, however due to the standard cars generous rear leg room this was not a concern.
All SCII LWB cars carried the modified standard saloon body, converted by Park Ward. As before the body had longer rear doors and was of a "six light" design. In total 299 cars were assembled to LWB specification.
