Following on from the tradition set by the Silver Cloud range, a Long Wheel Base model of the Silver Shadow was available from 1969. These LWB cars were 4 inches longer (as before) which allowed room for a glass division to be fitted if required. Without the centre partition these cars had considerably more rear leg room than the standard car.
Most LWB Silver Shadows had a fashionable "Everflex" roof covering and a smaller rear window, unlike the previous LWB Clouds no special coachbuilt version were produced. The Silver Shadow LWB became the Silver Wraith II in 1977, launched alongside the revised Silver Shadow II.
