The final derivative of the Alpine sports range arrived in 1965, the Alpine V. The Alpine V had cleaner, more modern lines and benefited from having the latest Rootes four cylinder engine which displaced 1725cc. The engine was a five bearing version of the old Hillman Minx engine and was rated at 92.5bhp, enough to power the Alpine to 100mph.
Minor detail changes were made to the trim and an alternator was now fitted in place of the old dynamo. Production of the Alpine V continued until 1968 when it was quietly dropped from the Rootes line-up.
