Mercedes-Benz 190D

Overview
Produced: 1961-1965, 225645 produced.
Types: Saloon,4 doors,4 seats

By 1961 the original 180 saloon was looking dated and in desperate need of a freshen-up and so a new 190 model was introduced by Mercedes. The new 190D used the same engine as the old 180D This engine displaced 1988cc and developed around 55bhp.

The most striking feature of the 190 range was undoubtedly the new bodystyling. The 190 and 190D featured fins on the rear wings and an overall squarer look that was very fashionable in 1961. The 190 was built to the usual high standards that Mercedes buyers expected and by the end of production (1965) the 190 range could be specified with power steering, automatic transmission and front disc brakes.
