The Elite was a marvellous car that was amazingly quick because it only weighed 1,150 lb (575 kg) and had a 1.2 litre Coventry-Climax engine that with its 71 bhp at 6,100 was really overpowered. The body was made of glass-fibre reinforced polyester but this proved to be a disadvantage after a few years when the bodies began to crack easily.
