In 1956 Allard showed a very pretty, curvaceous body on the Palm Beach frame, still with the old swing axle front suspension, and fitted it with a Jaguar XK140 engine. On paper, it was promising but it was too little, too late, and only seven cars were built. They had various engines, in the Allard tradition, and at least one had a fastback coupe body, with a rear treatment that presaged the later Jaguar E type. So ended Allard, not with a bang but a whimper.
