A redesigned Grantura appeared in 1962, the Grantura III. TVR had taken the opportunity to redesign the Grantura and incorporated a new tubular frame along with rack-and-pinion steering, revised suspension and a longer wheelbase. The suspension changes included coil springs and wishbones, front discs were now standard as were centre locking wire wheels.
To start with the Grantura III was offered with the faithful MGA engine, later cars were built with the new MGB engine which meant they could now be ordered with overdrive transmission. Production continued (slowly!) until the arrival of the Grantura 1800S in 1964.
