Overview
Produced: 1977-1982, 17710 produced.
Types: Coupe,2 doors,4 seats(Hatchback)

Launched in 1977 the 928 was the second of Porsches front engined cars, this time the power plant came in the shape of a 4.4 litre V8 which produced 240bhp. Most 928's were made with automatic transmission, these cars appealed to executive motorists more than the discerning 911 owner, indeed the older 911 was a quicker car by far.

Only ever available as a 2 door Coupe (apart from a one off 4 door car for the Porsche chairman!), the 928 had a quirky style. Styling features included headlamps that popped up when in use and plastic, de-formable front and rear bumpers. The 928 soldiered on into the 1990's as the 928 S2 and S4. Over 17,000 cars were built in total.
