Marcos 2 litre

Overview

Produced: 1970-1971, 40 produced.
Types: Coupe, 2 doors

Marcos first produced its classic 2-seater coupe way back in 1964, hard to imagine that this basic body-shape is still being produced, although in much modified form. Marcos took the unusual step in using laminated plywood for its chassis construction and GRP for the outer body-panels.

Marcos replaced the 1800 with a new 2 litre model in 1970 which used the Ford V4 unit normally fitted to the Corsair and Zephyr models. The 1996cc engine produced 85bhp and came with a Weber carburettor as standard. Unfortunately the Marcos 2 litre was let down by the less than reliable V4 unit. Production finished in 1971 after only one year of production.
