The GT, which appeared in 1950, was the sporting version of the Aurelia saloon. The car was designed by the renowned Vittorio Jano and had a 1,991 but later 2,451 cc V-6 engine and a gearbox that was incorporated into the differential. The Aurelia GT had a body by Pininfarina and was suitable for both daily use and competitive motor sport.
