Audi New 100

Overview

Produced: 1976-1982, 948114 produced. (All types including 5-cylinder cars)
Types: Saloon, 4 doors, 5 seats
In 1976 came the 'new 100' saloon, larger and completely restyled, with single-ohc 4-cylinder engines of 1588 and 1984cc, and in 1977 this car received Audi's revolutionary in-line 5-cylinder engine of 2144cc, the first to be fitted to a passenger car.  With power steering and optional automatic transmission, the 100 represented another move upmarket, and was a worthy rival to the medium-sized cars from BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
