Alvis introduced a new model range in 1953, the TC21. Although it directly replaced the similar TA21 a high performance version of the new car was also added, the TC21/100 Grey Lady. The Grey Lady was instantly recognised by its sporty wire wheels and discreet bonnet "scoops" which protruded just aft of the radiator grille.

The "/100" part of the name made reference to the models 100bhp power output which came courtesy of a pair of twin carburettors and a higher compression ratio. The 100bhp also made sure that the Grey Lady could easily each the (then) magical top speed of 100mph. Production of the Grey Lady lasted until 1955.

Dampers on these cars are all Luvax hydraulic, with dashboard adjustment and also pump on rear spring to stiffen at speed.

Front leaf spring is transverse, with lower wishbones, giving independent front suspension.

Steering: Marles O Type

Max Speed: 89mph but  increased with development, later ones did 97mph.
