Based on the humble Civic hatchback range Honda announced its latest Civic based coupes in 1986, the Civic 1.6i CRX. Initially this model came with a 1590cc twin-cam engine which kicked out a healthy 125bhp. Later a more powerful "V-TEC" version became available with a mighty 150bhp.
Bodywork was of the strictly 2+2 type with very little room for occupants in the rear, effectively making the car a usable two seater. Production of the CRX V-TEC continued until 1991.
