The Stag consisted of a stylish two door open tourer body (styled by Triumph favourite Michelotti) with an all new Triumph 3 litre V8 engine. The Stag's engine was never used in any other BL model and was the controversial cause of many of the cars problems, a pity as the engine developed
The Stag came as either a convertible or hardtop coupe (or both) and could be specified with either manual or auto transmission. Despite the cars problems and lack of development the Stag continued in production until
