Morris Marina Diesel

Overview
Produced: 1977-1980, 3870 produced.
Types: Saloon,4 doors,4 seats

In 1977 Leyland made a bold attempt to offer a diesel powered version of its already unloved Marina Saloon. The car was powered by a 1489cc diesel engine which offered little in terms of performance and most examples were exported to markets more used to diesel powered passenger cars.

Externally the Marina Diesel looked identical to its petrol powered sister, its main recognition point being its distinctive engine/exhaust note!. Production ended with the petrol versions in 1980, only 3,870 Diesel Marinas were completed.  Practical Classics January 2002 - Featuring Buyers Guide Morris Marina.  Click Here to view in our shop.
