The first 1,030 Spyders that were built on the running gear of the Fiat 1100 had the 1100 TV engine of 1,089 cc and 50 bhp at 5,400 rpm. When Fiat introduced the 1200 series, the Spyder got the 1,221 cc engine that gave it 52 bhp at 5,200 rpm.
