Again the "Carrera" name spelt out performance to the buyers of the 356B Carrera 2, launched in 1960 after the launch of the standard 356B. This time the Carrera 2 came equipped with a larger petrol tank to improve cruising range as well as a four-cam, dry-sump, 1588cc engine.
The 356B Carrera 2 with its outdated drum brakes was replaced by the 356C version in 1962. Just 380 cars were built in the 2 year production run.
