BMW 6-Series Coupe

Overview

Produced: 1976-?
Types: Coupe, 2 doors, 4 seats

BMW added a new coupe model to its range in 1976, the 6-Series. The 6-Series initially comprised of models powered by a range of straight six engines which included 2788cc, 2935cc, 3210cc, 3430cc and 3453cc units. This range was reduced to just two options, the 628i and 635CSiA during the 1980's.

The elegant and purposeful body for the 6-Series was unique although the chassis platform provided the basis for the 5-Series launched in 1977. By the time production ceased in 1989 enthusiasts were already starting to buy good examples at low prices, thanks mainly to a combination of high-depreciation and excellent build quality.
