Daimler updated its DB18 model in 1950 and renamed it as the DB18 Consort. The new Consort had cleaner, more modern styling which included an attractive curved grille. The DB18 Consort came only as a four door saloon complete with "six light" window arrangement.
Standard mechanical equipment for the new Consort included the same six cylinder engine used in the old DB18, Hydromech brakes and a hyoid-bevel rear axle arrangement. Production of this stop gap model continued until the arrival of the new Conquest in 1953.
