Daimler Conquest Roadster

Overview

Produced: 1953-1955, 65 produced.
Types: Sports, 2 doors

Yet another derivative of the Daimler Conquest appeared in 1953, the Conquest Roadster. The new Conquest Roadster shared the same 2433cc six cylinder engine as the heavier saloon version, however in this lighter form a top speed of 100mph was easily attainable.

The styling of the Conquest Roadster was curious to say the least. The traditional Daimler grille looked out of place amongst the fashionable tail fins and bonnet air intakes. Production of this all alloy bodied sports car continued until 1955 when it was replaced by a more serious looking Conquest Drophead Coupe.
