Daimler introduced its last separate chassis model in 1954, the Regina (later known as the DK 400). The Regina also featured the traditional Daimler fluid flywheel transmission which was also beginning to show its age!
The cars large chassis leant itself to bespoke limousine coachwork that could easily accommodate three abreast seating, the model was an instant hit with private hire operators. Production continued until 1960, by then just over 130 examples had been built.
